As well as all of the fun activities, students will take part in the specifically designed English programmes that are used to build confidence, engage students in group work and enhance their English language skills.

Designed by Arsenal Football Development and run by Arsenal coaches, teaching players to ‘Play the Arsenal Way’, it covers important aspects of the sport including sports psychology; match preparation and tactics; rest and recovery; and training programmes. Players that excel in the programme may also be selected to play against a local development team.

The focus is on coaching at the individual player level rather than the group level. Every player is helped to improve, regardless of their ability, developing skills, knowledge and confidence.

Level: Intermediate, advanced or professional

This intensive, professional two-week football training course is run by official LaLiga coaches from Spain and is open to international students with a football level of intermediate, advanced or professional. Students receive 17.5 hours of English and at least 14 hours of football training per week.

Football training focuses on individual player development (week 1) and team player development (week 2) through technical training, workshops, masterclasses, video analysis, tutorials, and smaller and larger-sided games. Dicker centre provides an exceptional facility for this course, with access to well-maintained playing fields, artificial pitches, a multi-purpose sports hall, swimming pool, professional gym and analysis rooms, all part of a multi-million pound sports complex.

• 6 English levels are available from A0 (Complete Beginner) to C2 (Proficiency). Entry test on first Monday with a speaking, grammar and writing component.

The coaching curriculum is by Inter Milan Academy, a direct extension of Italian professional football club Inter Milan’s
Youth Sector.

The training provides theoretical and practical skills to enable each student to learn in an effective and rational way. Throughout training, coaches will focus on 5 key areas:

• Physical-Coordinative Area
• Technical-Tactical Area
• Social Area
• Psychological-Motivational Area
• Medical Area

At the end of each week, students will take part in a tournament to put their newly developed skills into action! Throughout the week, coaches will award two Inter Milan shirts, signed by Inter Milan players themselves! The awards will be for the player of the week and for the player who best demonstrates the core values as mentioned above.

The bespoke English language curriculum focuses on providing the knowledge, skills and confidence for students to communicate effectively both on and off the field.
